AN initiative which enables Oldham residents to improve and create sustainable green spaces in their communities has been funded for another two years.
Cabinet members agreed to allocate £200,000 for Green Dividend projects over the next two years following the success of the scheme.
The scheme has funded 54 projects making places greener right across the borough through gardening and landscaping projects, including at Primrose Bank and through the Westoria Residents Group, and there are currently 20 schemes on the Green Dividend waiting list.
Councillor Barbara Brownridge said: "I think we all agree that this has achieved some fantastic community initiatives across the borough which have contributed to our success at Britain in Bloom but perhaps more importantly have resulted in good community cohesion, intergenerational activity, ending social isolation and public health benefits."
