RIZWAN ABID, aged 32, of Ripponden Road, Oldham, had the unpaid work requirement removed from a community order after the conditions were varied by Greater Manchester Magistrates’ Court. The removal of the unpaid work requirement was recommended by Abid’s offender manager.

SULEYMAN MIAH, aged 32, of Suffolk Street, Werneth, must carry out 15 hours’ unpaid work within the next 12 months after a community order was varied by Greater Manchester Magistrates’ Court. The amendment was made after Miah breached the terms of the original community order.

JAMIE STANTON, aged 23, of Scoltop Way, St Mary’s Estate, Oldham, was committed to prison for 14 days for failing to comply with the requirements of a post-custodial sentence supervision, namely failing to attend unpaid work appointments and failing to provide evidence to reasonably excuse the absences.

ALAMIN HOQUE, aged 26, of Middleton Road, Royton, was ordered to forfeit £2,251.32 and any interest secured on that money.

TAJUL ISLAM, aged 32, of Ripon Street, Oldham, was discharged conditionally for 12 months for stealing goods valued at £65 from Tesco. He was also ordered to pay a £20 surcharge to fund victim services.

REECE GILBERT, aged 24, of Stanley Road, Chadderton, was committed to prison for two months consecutive for possessing of an aerosol which he was prohibited from doing by a criminal behaviour order. In a second offence, Gilbert received a four-month prison sentence, suspended for 12 months, for being seen within a prohibited area in possession of a gas canister which he was prohibited from doing by a criminal behaviour order. He was also ordered to pay a £115 surcharge to fund victim services.

GREG MULLENDER, aged 53, of Howarth Street, Oldham, was committed to prison for six weeks, suspended for 12 months, for failing without reasonable excuse to remain out of a prohibited area as required by a criminal behaviour order. In a second offence he was committed to prison for six weeks consecutively, for failing without reasonable excuse to remain out of a prohibited area as required by a criminal behaviour order.

ALEX WHITTAKER, aged 23, of Mersey Road North, Failsworth, was committed to prison for 12 weeks, suspended for 24 months, for assault by beating. He was also given a rehabilitation activity requirement of 20 days and an unpaid work requirement of 120 hours over the next 12 months. He was also ordered to pay a £115 surcharge to fund victim services, £200 compensation and £85 costs.

MARK BUXTON, aged 30, of Spring Street, Oldham, was given a community order for assault by beating and for failing to surrender to custody. He was also given a requirement to carry out 60 hours of unpaid work in the next 12 months and to pay a surcharge to fund victim services of £85 and £100 costs.

SAMANTHA WALKER, aged 31, of Wimpole Street, Oldham, was conditionally discharged for 12 months for being a person who imported, produced, carried, kept, treated or disposed of controlled waste failed to take all reasonable measures to prevent a contravention of the Environmental Protection Act at Crime Lane, Medlock Vale. She was ordered to pay a surcharge to fund victim services of £20 and £629.50 costs.

ATIQ AHMED, aged 34, of Copster Hill Road, Oldham, was committed to prison for 12 weeks suspended for 12 months for causing harassment, alarm or distress, used threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour or disorderly behaviour which was religiously and racially aggravated. The incident deemed so serious due to the nature and gravity of the offence which happened at a primary school in front of a number of children who were frightened and teachers who felt scared at defendant's level of aggression.

He was also given a rehabilitation activity requirement and ordered to pay a surcharge to fund victim services of £115 and £85 costs.

CAMERON ISSAC MILLS, aged 18, of Salts Street, Shaw, was committed to detention in a young offender institution for six weeks for stealing a car key and wallet worth £200 and was committed to detention in a young offender institution for six weeks to concurrently with the first sentence for taking a car without consent. He was ordered to pay a surcharge to fund victim services of £115.

SIMON PETER LOGAN, aged 46, of Urmston Street, Hathershaw, was discharged conditionally for 12 months for sending text messages which conveyed a threat for the purpose of causing distress or anxiety. He was ordered to pay a surcharge to fund victim services of £20 and £85 costs.

LIAM MAGUIRE, aged 25, of Hardman Lane, Failsworth, had an application made against him to seize £10,000 cash under the Proceeds of Crime Act 2002 for having reasonable grounds to suspect the property was obtained through unlawful conduct intended for use in unlawful conduct.

REAGAN WALTERS, aged 34, of Albert Street, Lees, was disqualified from driving, fined £100 and had his driving licence endorsed for driving without insurance. He was fined £660 for driving without due care and attention and ordered to pay £300 compensation, a surcharge to fund victim services of £76 and £125 costs.

GARY LEECH, aged 52, of Patterdale Close, Oldham, was given a community order with a 300 hour unpaid work requirement for stealing vegetable oil and paper towels worth £5,532.00 from Vegetable Oil Limited. He was ordered to pay £2,000 compensation.

SHAKOOR ALI, aged 39, of Bobbin Walk, Oldham, was fined £120 for possession of a quantity of cocaine. He was ordered to pay a surcharge to fund victim services of £30.00 and £85 costs.

MOHAMMED AMINUR RAHMAN, aged 20, of Springclough Drive, Oldham, was discharged conditionally for 12 months for damaging car windows to the value of £1,000. He was ordered to pay compensation of £350 and £150 costs. He was also discharged conditionally for 12 months for possessing a quantity of cannabis and was disqualified from driving and had his driving licence endorsed with six points for driving without insurance.
