Today (December 9): Lyceum Theatre Craft Fair, Union Street, from noon to 6pm, showcasing local small businesses and charities. Handmade gifts and treats, including wreaths, cakes, candles, sweets, picture frames, cards and pet hampers. The bar will be serving mulled wine, mince pies, coffee and tea.

Today: Age UK Oldham Victorian Christmas Fayre at George Street Chapel from 11am until 4pm. Enjoy gifts, crafts, toys, cakes and tombola, and the chance to meet Santa. There will be festive treats a live choir and a selfie station at the event.

Today: Join Oldham Baptist Church in Market Square, outside Primark between 11am and 2pm for "Get in the Picture" and have an opportunity to have a personalised nativity picture.

Tomorrow (December 10): Christmas Concert by Oldham Community Choir at the Lyceum Music Centre, 2.30pm. £4 admission including a drink and a mince pie.

December 12: Royton Townswomen’s Guild will host a Christmas celebration and Secret Santa event, raising money for the Alzheimer's Society at Royton Town Hall from 7.30pm. Speaker Ron Tench will also give a talk on Father Christmas In Lapland. Entrance is £2 for members, £3 for non members, including refreshments. December 13: Oldham College, in Rochdale Road, is holding its Christmas Markets from 2-6pm. There will be meet and greets with Santa and Olaf, mischievous elves, stalls selling handmade gifts and crafts, food and drink - even real snow.

December 13: Royton and Crompton School, Blackshaw Lane, are holding their Christmas Market from 3pm until 6pm., There will be a festive BBQ, a licensed bar, raffle, gift stalls and chocolate/bottle tombola. Entrance is free. It will be followed by a Christmas concert at 6.30pm, entrance £2.
