HE'S no stranger to styling the likes of the music glitterati from Stormzy to Craig David and a host of high profile DJs and rap artists in between.

But now razor-sharp barber Danny Robinson, who runs Danny & Co in Shaw and Uppermill, is set for TV stardom after being scooped to appear on a new reality show hosted by Geordie Shore's Nathan Henry.

Danny was whisked down to London and put up in a top hotel to film the pilot in which he is part of a "glam squad", transforming boyfriends up and down the land.

Contestants put forward their other halves to be turned into their celebrity crush and Danny is tasked with bringing the entire look together by re-creating their idol's hairs on their man.

Unfortunately we're unable to reveal the title of the show - filmed by Awesomeness TV and backed by NBCUniversal - or when and where it will be aired as it's still top secret.

But Danny is hoping it will be a huge success and is hoping he'll be asked back to make a second series.

"They just just contacted me on social media after see my Instagram account," said the award-winning stylist who is a regular at V Festival and Creamfields with his pop-barber shop.

"They really liked the hair cuts I've done and the work I've done previously and asked me to apply to do the show.

"I had to send in a three minute video about myself and then invited me down to London for an interview and I found out I'd got it.

"I spent four days filming at this amazing location in London and I stayed in this fantastic hotel. I absolutely loved it.

"The show was great and I think it will be well received. I styled five contestants and four were really happy with their look. They don't know what celebrity they're being styled like until they see the finished look and it's kind of the hair which brings it all together."

"things have really snowballed thanks to this and I've spoken with an agent who is keen to work with me.

"This is huge for me - starting out from a little barber shop in Shaw. I almost have to pinch myself it's happening but my shops are my main priority."

Danny recently relocated his Uppermill shop to premises above Hei Hei Eaterie in High Street.

He commission stunning decor and artwork especially for the new venture which is based on the Gotham theme.

"I wanted to break away from the traditional barbers shop and this is so unique, there's nothing like it anywhere else in the world!" said Danny.

"I'm so proud of it."
