A CARE home will open its doors to hand out free glasses of bubbly and provide live entertainment.
Avonleigh Gardens Care Home, in Oldham, will show visitors what daily life is like for its residents, and hopes to recruit volunteers to help run its activity programme.
Residents are invited to speak with members of staff, and take part in craft activities, a raffle, and hear music from the '50s, on Saturday, February 24.
Manager Joanne Kelly said: "This is an opportunity for our neighbours to come and see what daily life is like at Avonleigh Gardens and for us to reach out to potential volunteers.
"Our activity programme makes a massive difference to the quality of life of our residents but we couldn’t run it without our fantastic volunteers.
"I hope that people will see what a rewarding experience volunteering here can be."
A glass of Buck's Fizz or orange juice will be available for free at the CQC-rated Good home in Clyde Street.
A church service will also be held, and care provider MHA will be fundraising throughout the event for its activity programme at Avonleigh Gardens.
Residents are invited to attend between 10am and 3pm.
