PHOTOGRAPHY and ceramics are among workshops scheduled to take place at a homelessness charity in Mossley.

Residents are invited to Emmaus Mossley to learn and develop new skills in a range of subjects such as pottery and upcycling.

The charity, based at Longlands Mill in Queen Street, supports 26 formerly homeless people by providing them with a home and work opportunities.

The first workshop in the series took place last week, with the next 'Capture Fab Photos' event scheduled for this Saturday (February 24).

Hazel Hodkinson, retail manager at Emmaus Mossley, said: "We've wanted to organise some Emmaus workshops for our Saturday supporters for some time.

"Hopefully they will provide an opportunity for people to learn something new in a fun, friendly and relaxed environment.

"The workshops, which started at the beginning of February, are just the beginning and if they prove popular we intend to organise more throughout the year."

Capture Fab Photos is aimed at anyone looking to improve their photography skills.

The three-hour workshop will be led by photographer Steve Reynolds who specialises in portraiture, studio and event photography.

Visitors are invited to attend between 10am and 1pm.

More Emmaus workshops are planned for March but places are limited and tickets need to be booked in advance.
