AN Oldham dessert and milkshake bar has been fined a total of £5,600 for a string of food safety and hygiene breaches including an uncontrolled mouse infestation.
Oldham Council environmental health officers visited Creamy Way Limited, in Ashton Road, on two occasions in May last year.
A hearing at Tameside Magistrates Court heard they found that the premises were not being cleaned to an adequate standard and there was dirt, food debris and mouse droppings throughout the premises, including some kitchen surfaces.
They discovered contamination likely to render the food injurious to health.
Contrary to regulations there was no completed documented food safety management system in place.
The firm was found guilty of four charges of contravening or failing to comply with EU Hygiene Regulations in the absence of the owner and was ordered to pay £1,150 in costs and a £170 surcharge to fund victim services.
