THE owner of the Blue Onion Cafe, in Henshaw Street, has been fined after mouse droppings were found throughout the premises, including on work surfaces.
Michael Cattlin, aged 55, pleaded guilty to a charge of having contravened or failed to comply with a provision of the Food Safety and Hygiene Regulations 2013 under EU Hygiene Regulations at Tameside Magistrates Court.
During a food hygiene inspection in May 2017 Oldham Council environmental health officers discovered mouse droppings throughout the premises including on the floor, on shelving and work surfaces due to inadequate pest control measures being put in place.
He was fined £160 and ordered to pay £1,100 costs and a surcharge to fund victim services of £30.
