MACMILLAN nurses at the Royal Oldham Hospital are making a noise for ovarian cancer awareness month.
The hospital's gynaecology Macmillan nurses will be spreading the word about the symptoms of ovarian cancer in an effort to save lives.
The hospital has joined the Target Ovarian Cancer charity to 'Start Making Noise' about the signs of ovarian cancer.
Every day, 11 women die from ovarian cancer. Symptoms include persistent bloating, feeling full quickly and/or loss of appetite, pelvic or abdominal pain and urinary symptoms.
Tracey Dixon, Amanda Storey and Julie Dale are three of the nurses calling for women to be diagnosed earlier, as part of Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month this March.
Ms Storey said: "In the month of March we will be displaying posters and information in our gynaecology clinics at the Royal Oldham, North Manchester Hospital, Fairfield General Hospital and Rochdale Infirmary.
"We advise that if there is anyone who may be concerned about the symptoms of ovarian cancer, they can call us on 0161 778 5670."
The nursing teams will be raising awareness of the condition throughout their clinics.
They will also host a cake sale on Monday, March 26 in the gynaecology outpatients department at the Royal Oldham.
