HERE'S one little bunny who generated lots of money when he hopped to it for a Dr Kershaw's Hospice Easter fundraiser.

Three-year-old Jake Hall and his mum Claire Stanley collected an egg-cellent £1,000 in sponsorship for a Bunny Hop at Fir Bank Primay School pre-school, in Royton.

When Claire found out Jake and his class were taking part in the event - inspired by teacher Paula Bond whose father David Walker was cared for by the Hospice at Home team - she roped in colleagues at her dad's firm, LTS Haulage, family and all her friends on Facebook to donate.

Even she couldn't believe it when the total hit the £1,000 mark.

"When it comes to sponsorship and raising money I think it's important to raise as much as possible," she said.

"It meant so much to Mrs Bond that we felt we had to really make the effort. I just asked everybody and the total kept going up and up. It was amazing."

Jack and his classmates completed the sponsored Bunny Hop and in total raised an incredible £2,100.

Hospice fundraiser Angela Higham said: “The support that Fir Bank gave to the hospice is much appreciated – and the efforts of Jake and his family are amazing.

“We know that local people dig deep to support the work we do at the Hospice and to see the young children having a fun time whilst raising money was fabulous to see.”
