A PROPERTY which was being used to grow cannabis caught fire last night.
The house, located on Broadway near Trevor Drive, was attended by fire crews from Chadderton and Hollins at around midnight.
Firefighters originally feared that someone may be inside the building and called out both police and ambulance services although nobody was found.
The fire grew to come out of the building’s roof and Oldham’s aerial fire appliances were called but officers were able to put a stop to the blaze with water.
Officers believe that the problems were likely to have been caused by an electrical fault which could have caused appliances to overheat.
