DR Kershaw’s Hospice boss heaped praise on the hundreds of volunteers who help out the charity das the UK celebrates National Volunteer Week (June 1-7).

Chief Executive Joanne Sloan issued heartfelt thanks to all those who voluntarily play such a vital part at Dr Kershaw’s.

From the Turf Lane reception and tea trolley service to van drivers and assistants in the hospice’s five shops across the borough, she said there are so many who give up their time to help keep their costs down.

Joanne said: “It is important that we acknowledge all our fantastic volunteers for the dedicated support they give to Dr Kershaw’s and the love and laughter they bring every day.

“Their commitment and effort does not go unnoticed. A massive thank you to all you wonderful people from myself and everyone at the hospice.”
