FAMILY fun, a fairground and stalls are part of Failsworth Carnival which takes place at Lord Land playing fields on Saturday and Sunday (June 9 and 10).

The event starts at 10am on both days and there will be a parade around Failsworth on Saturday from 1pm.

On Saturday, Oldham Community Radio will be doing a live broadcast, the stalls will include the Blood Bikes, Oldham Cancer Support, Army Cadets and lots more including a fairground and Army vehicles.

At 3pm, the carnival royalty will be crowned followed by the presentation of trophies to the winning parade floats.

The MANECCO dance competitions will take place and during the day and Failsworth Band will be playing from 1pm and at around 3pm there will be Karate displays.

On Sunday, in addition to the fairground and stalls there will be entertainment on the stage from 12.30pm to 4pm including Good Vibrations, Footlights, Diva Dance, Zumba and April Marchington.

At 3pm, there will be a bonny baby competition and at 4pm the prize draw will take place.

“The weather forecast if looking good. Please line the streets for the parade and bring your money. Every penny collected goes towards the 2019 carnival, ” said Enid Bell, treasurer, Failsworth Carnival Committee.
