AN Oldham GPs’ surgery has been given an “outstanding” rating by the Care Quality Commission.
Hollinwood Medical Practice in Clive Street received glowing praise after an inspection was carried out in March.
Inspectors rated the practice as Outstanding overall and for being caring, responsive and well-led, and Good for being safe and effective.
Professor Steve Field, chief inspector of general practice said: “This practice has again demonstrated its ability to provide outstanding care within its community, a fantastic achievement well done.”
Some of the CQC’s findings included: Clinical audits were performed at the practice with the aim of improving services, outcomes were learned from and were shared across the organisation for quality improvement.
Risks were well managed in the practice, where incidents did occur the practice handled them in an open and transparent way so that lessons could be learned.
Staff were highly motivated and supported to be innovative in their approach to care, whilst maintaining person-centred care that was delivered in a kind, compassionate way.
The practice was rated Outstanding across all six population groups.
The service was previously rated outstanding in March, 2015, under a different registration.
