A SPECTACULAR programme has been teed up for Saddleworth Show, which takes place at Well-i-Hole Farm on Sunday, July 1 from 10am to 6pm.

Highlights of the event organised by the Rotary Club of Saddlworth and Oldham Metro Rotary Club include the famous Juba do Leao drumming band with their spectacular mix of Brazilian inspired music and dance.

Also features will be an array of talented singers, dancers and musicians from Oldham’s own Mahdlo who will join Saddlworth Dancers and Blades Academy Rap and street dancers. Their performances will be complemented by favourites - Baby Ballet and Suzi’s School of Performing Arts.

All age groups and a wide range of tastes will be catered for with a junior version of Juba do Leao Jubicana set against the somewhat older skills of the Oldham and Saddleworth Rock Choir and the U3A Ukelele Group.

Three Young Electric guitarist groups (EGG 1, 2,& 3) from the Oldham Music Centre will play at intervals throughout the day and the senior group from the centre the BBC (Blues and Band Club) will finish off the afternoon.

A school steel band and some choral speakers from Oldham’s 2018 Festival, are also being lined up.

Welcomed back as the showcase adjudicator is local star of the stage Clara Darcy well-known for her celebrated performances in Chicago and Brassed Off among many others.

Director of the showcase, Mel Farrar, said: “This is the best line up we have ever had and visitors to the show can be guaranteed a brilliant experience. Come along and grab the best seats at the Show.”

The Saddleworth Show is preceded by "Wellifest" on Saturday, June 30, a musical extravaganza featuring tribute acts to Brittany Spears, Boy George and Lionel Richie.

The music starts at 4pm.
