POLICE say there are no suspicious circumstances surrounding a flat fire in Oldham which claimed the life of a 55-year-old man yesterday (Thursday, July 5).
Firefighters were called to the home in Nazeby Walk, Werneth at 1pm. The man was being treated by paramedics when they arrived, but he died at the scene.
A joint investigation between the fire service and police was launched, but GMP spokesman said today “it’s not thought there were any suspicious circumstances at this time”.
