A HOST of Emmerdale stars poured over the Pennines for a fund-raising celebrity dance off.

Samantha Giles, who plays Bernice, Michael Praed, who is Frank in the soap and Laura Norton, who plays Kerry, joined fellow cast mates and Housewives of Cheshire star, Leanne Brown, for the Celebrity Dance event at the Queen Elizabeth home, staged in memory of former Dr Kershaw's Hospice patient Russ Burns.

Deciding the winner was a tough decision with judges and the public split over who should waltz off with the coveted trophy.

Emmerdale's Amy Walsh, who plays Tracey Metcalf got the judges' vote while Leanne, wife of Sunderland and former Manchester United footballer Wes Brown, won the audience's vote.

The evening was hosted by none other than the soap's villain Eric Pollard, otherwise known as actor Chris Chittell, and Liam Fox, who plays Dan Spencer and also starred Joe Warren-Platt, who plays Jacob.

The event was organised by 65-year-old Russ's wife, June, after he told her days before he died from multiple myeloma she had to raise funds for the hospice in recognition of the excellent treatment he received from Kershaw's At Home Service and as an inpatient.
