A MAN who died following a collision with a tram in Oldham has been named.

The collision, which took place close to the Sainsbury’s on Union Street, was reported to police shortly before 12.20am on Saturday, July 7.

The 42-year-old man, who has formally been identified as Marvin Coley, was to hospital where he sadly died as a result of his serious head injury.

His family are being provided with support from our specially trained officers.

Police Constable Paul Hailwood of GMP’s serious collision investigation unit, said: "Our thoughts are with Marvin’s family at this difficult time as they face the loss of their loved one.

"It’s for them that we need to find witnesses who can help our investigation into how this collision happened, to find the answers they deserve.
