THE Royal Oldham Hospital will open its doors to the public to showcase its work and offer a platform to share views on how they can improve.
At the event in the main entrance on September 19, from 10am to noon, staff will be offering an insight into the work they do and there will be an opportunity for visitors to take tours, as well as browse stalls and learn more about a variety of healthcare areas such as sepsis, stroke, maternity and cardiology.
There will also be information on volunteering and careers and free refreshments.
Other open events are being held at North Manchester General Hospital, September 28, 10am-12pm, at the Post-Graduate Education Centre and Rochdale Infirmary, on September 20, 2pm-4pm, in the main entrance.
Jim Potter, chairman for the Northern Care Alliance NHS Group, said: “We are extremely proud of our hospitals, community services and dedicated staff. The open events provide a great opportunity to showcase our fantastic work but to also listen to the people in our local communities to help us to further improve the experience for those using our services.”
The open events will culminate with the first ever Joint Annual Members and Public Meeting for the Northern Care Alliance NHS Group. The meeting will take place on Monday, 8th October 2018 at 6pm in Humphrey Booth Lecture Theatre located in the Mayo Building at Salford Royal.
The Northern Care Alliance NHS Group brings together over 17,500 staff and services across two Trusts; Salford Royal NHS Foundation Trust and The Pennine Acute Hospitals NHS Trust, to form one of the largest NHS organisations in the country.
With an operating budget of £1.3bn, it serves a population of over one million people and operates five hospitals and community services - Salford Royal, The Royal Oldham, Fairfield General Hospital in Bury, Rochdale Infirmary, and North Manchester General Hospital.
