FANS of Oldham Athletic are set to mark the return of John Sheridan - or the 'Shezurrection' - with cocktails and shots.

Sheridan, the legendary ex-midfielder and manager who has saved The Latics from relegation twice in the past, was announced as the club's coach after their loss to Harrogate Town over the weekend.

The news was greeted with glee by fans of Oldham Athletic, who think 'Shez' is their best chance of lifting The Latics off the bottom of League Two and away from the draw of the National League.

And when rivals Rochdale come to Boundary Park this weekend, these fans will be able to mark Sheridan's return with cocktails and shots.

On Monday, Oldham Event Centre tweeted: "With the return of Shez, we’ve got something special this weekend in the Matchday Bar.

"Shezurrection cocktails and 'His Lordship' shots to toast his return."

Whether there will be an improvement in performances remains to be seen, but at least there will be some shots on target on Saturday...
