A report of a tiger on the loose in Oldham in Oldham on Monday evening turned out to be nothing more than a toy pawing in the grass.
Greater Manchester Police (GMP) Oldham said on social media that a concerned member of the public had contacted them and said a lost tiger was in a nearby garden.
Officers arrived at the scene and quickly confirmed the tiger was not a real animal but instead was a toy who they have named Tony the Tiger.
In the post online, police said they had asked Tony for a comment, to which he replied: "They're grrrrrrrreat."
Police said the toy had been booked into property at Oldham Police Station.
