It is understood that the road was closed for a period following the crash, with a diversion in place.

The road has seen a number of crashes in recent years, including one in April 2022 which saw three children taken to hospital.

The junction connects the Chadderton A-road with the busy M60 motorway, and is near to businesses including Costco Oldham and the Boat & Horses pub.
