Reports of a gun being shot in Oldham has seen police descend on the town.
Greater Manchester Police officers are stationed on Minton Street, in Glodwick, as they investigate an alleged firearm that was discharged in the area at around 5.30pm today.
The force understands that there was no injuries following the report and they do not believe there to be a threat to the public.
A spokesperson for the force said: "We are investigating a firearms discharge on Minton Street that occurred around 5:30pm.
"There were no injuries and believe there is no wider threat at this time.
"There is a scene in place and officers will be in the area throughout the evening and into tomorrow."
