With spring well and truly underway, can we expect some sunshine in Oldham this bank holiday May weekend?

It's been a miserable start to the spring months so far this year and many across the borough will be hoping for dry, clear skies and some sun to enjoy this bank holiday weekend.

While the Met Office forecasts Oldham will be dry and warm at least, it also predicts the weekend will be overcast with mostly grey skies and clouds.

However, by bank holiday Monday (May 6), temperatures may pick up again and the sun could make an appearance.

Here's the full forecast of what to expect.

Friday, May 3

The Met Office predicts the day will kick off to a foggy start around 7am before clearing to overcast skies from 10am through most of the day.

There could be some spots of rain around 4pm and 10pm and highs of up to 14 degrees.

Saturday, May 4

Saturday is fortunately warmer and drier, reaching highs of 16 degrees with not a raindrop in sight.

It will be overcast though for the entire day ,from 7am until sundown.

However, sunny intervals are also forecast by early evening at around 7pm.

Monday, May 6

Finally, bank holiday Monday is forecast a mixed bag of sun, rain and cloud.

A cloudy start to the day from 7am is due to change to light showers and sun by 10am through to 7pm.

The temperature could reach to a high of around 16 degrees while the showers are predicted to stop by late evening.
