A burglar stole a Sky TV box after gaining entrance to student accommodation.

Greater Manchester Police (GMP) officers are hoping to track down a thief who allegedly failed to steal three TVs before making off with the premium streaming device.

The offence took place in the city centre in March, and in the process of attempting to take a number of wall-mounted televisions down, one ended up smashed.

A spokesperson for the force said: "We are appealing for information following reports a burglary at a student accommodation building in the city centre on Tuesday, March 12.

"The offender has then attempted to take a further two TVs in the building but was unsuccessful. The suspect did however make off with a Sky Box."

They continued: "No arrests have been made at this stage.
