ON-LOAN teenager Lee Kershaw scored two tries on debut as Oldham RL returned to winning ways with a 32-18 home win against Keighley Cougars.

Winger Kershaw (18), from Wakefield Trinity, scored two early tries and thought he had completed his hat-trick on the last play of the game when he intercepted on his own line and went the length of the field.

He raised his arm in triumph before crossing the Keighley line only to find that the touchjudge ruled he had not grounded the ball correctly.

Oldham raced into a 16-0 lead inside 12 minutes but were pegged back to 16-14 at half-time before dominating the second half to finish comfortable winners.

Dave Eccleston, Kieran Gill and Liam Bent also scored Oldham tries, while Paul Crook landed six goals from seven attempts.

The win was a tonic for Scott Naylor's men ahead of next Sunday's fifth round Ladbrokes Challenge Cup clash against Hull KR at Bower Fold, Stalybridge (3pm kick off)
