CENTRE Zack McComb scored his second hat-trick in two games as Oldham demolished bottom-club West Wales Raiders 74-0 in Llanelli to consolidate their position in Betfred League 1's play-off zone.

It was the Roughyeds fifth league win in a row, during which time they have seen off Keighley Cougars (32-18), Newcastle Thunder (28-12) and Hemel Stags (74-6) at home as well as Workington Town (32-10) and now the Raiders (74-0) on the road.

McComb's six tries in two games takes his total for the season to eight and lifts him to top spot in the list of Roughyeds try scorers.

His fellow centre Matt Reid and half-back David Hewitt each helped themselves to a brace of tries and others were scored by wingers Dave Eccleston and Ben West and forwards Kenny Hughes, Danny Bridge, Matty Wilkinson, Danny Rasool and Phil Joy.

Hewitt landed five conversions from seven shots in the first half before handing over to full-back Kyran Johnson, who kicked four from seven in the second half.

Roughyeds next game is a potential cracker against third-placed Doncaster at the Vestacare Stadium on Sunday, June 3 (3pm kick-off).
