LATICS have completed a one-year deal for trialist defender Andy Taylor.

The 32-year-old left back, who has featured in Athletic’s pre-season friendlies, started his career at Blackburn Rovers where he came through the youth ranks before loan spells with Queens Park Rangers, Blackpool, Crewe Alexandra, Huddersfield Town and Tranmere Rovers.

In 2007, Taylor signed for Tranmere where he made 69 appearances before moving for an undisclosed fee to Sheffield United.

During his time at Bramall Lane, the left-footer played 39 times in the Championship as well as featuring in the League One play-off final in 2012.

He then joined Walsall where he made 140 appearances and played in the 2015 Johnstone’s Paint Trophy final at Wembley.

He has been at Blackpool since 2016, making 38 appearances.
