OLDHAM go to the South Leeds Stadium tomorrow (Sunday) seeking their first away win over Hunslet in nearly five years, writes Kasey Smith.

It was back in September 2019 when Roughyeds last beat the Parksiders on their home patch, a 34-20 win in Oldham’s promotion-winning year.

Though, previous form should be taken with a pinch of salt, with Oldham a totally different force altogether in 2024.

George Hirst, Kian Morgan and Pat Moran are the only three members of the side, which lost 21-8 to Hunslet last year, to still be at the club. Roughyeds could be going into the game without Mo Agoro and Ben O’Keefe who have been, arguably, two of the club’s best players this season.

However, Oldham have several middles edging their way back into the fore in Pat Moran and Elijah Taylor – as well as outside back Phoenix Laulu-Togaga’e who has yet to make his debut for Oldham, since signing a season-long loan on March 15.

PLT was the 18th man in last weekend’s win over Rochdale and with doubts over both O’Keefe and Agoro – this Sunday could be his first opportunity.

“Phoenix is killing it in training,” admitted Roughyeds boss Sean Long.

“First, though, he needs to understand our systems in attack and defence but he is not far off.”

Cian Tyrer will also be back with Oldham, having completed his two week loan with Workington last Saturday by scoring a try in the 48-18 win over Newcastle.

Admission prices for Sunday’s game are £15 for adults, £10 for concessions and free for under-16s, which can be bought at hunsletrlfc.com.

The Yeds Supporters Group are once again providing away coach travel at a snip – with prices just £10 return for adults and £2 for children.
