ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 - SECTION 14 THE M62 MOTORWAY (JUNCTIONS 7-11 EASTBOUND & WESTBOUND CARRIAGEWAYS & SLIP & LINK ROADS) [TEMPORARY PROHIBITION AND RESTRICTION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2017

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Highways England Company Limited (Company No. 09346363) has made an Order on the M62 Motorway in the Boroughs of Warrington and St Helens in the Counties of Cheshire and Merseyside to enable resurfacing, renewal of road markings and road studs, reinstatement of traffic detector loops, replacement of bridge joints; and other general maintenance works; to be carried out in safety.

(a) The Order will impose a 50 mph speed restriction on the following sections of the M62 Motorway:



i) on the eastbound carriageway, from the centreline of Railway Stoops East Bridge, to the centreline of Risley Manse Bridge (between Junctions 7 and 10);



ii) on the westbound carriageway, from a point 300 metres west of the centreline of Silver Lane West Bridge, to a point 500 metres east of the centreline of Jubits Lane Bridge (between Junctions 11 and 7);



(b) The Order will ban all traffic from the following sections of the M62 Motorway:



i) the eastbound carriageway, from a point 400 metres east of the centreline of Jubits Lane Bridge, to a point 200 metres west of the centreline of Risley Manse Bridge (between Junctions 7 and 10);



ii) the westbound carriageway, from a point 100 metres east of the centreline of Risley Manse Bridge, to a point 700 metres east of the centreline of Jubits Lane Bridge (between Junctions 11 and 7);



iii) the eastbound and westbound exit and entry slip roads at Junction 8;



iv) the eastbound and westbound exit and entry slip roads at Junction 9;



v) the eastbound entry slip road at Junction 8, from Burtonwood Motorway Services;



vi) the M62 eastbound to the M6 northbound and southbound link road;



vii) the M6 southbound to the M62 westbound link road.



(c) The Order will allow the hardshoulder adjacent to the following sections of the M62 Motorway to be used as running lanes:



i) the eastbound carriageway as described at (b) i) above;



ii) the westbound carriageway as described at (b) ii) above.



A 50 mph speed restriction will be in force on the hardshoulder when used as a running lane.

Prohibitions (b) iii) - vii) are expected to take place overnight between 2000 hours and 0500 hours (continuing to 0700 hours on Saturday and Sunday mornings) during a period starting on Friday 7 April 2017 and ending on Friday 14 April 2017.

Restrictions (a) and (c) and prohibitions (b) i)-ii) are expected to take place overnight between 2100 hours and 0500 hours (continuing to 0700 hours on Saturday and Sunday mornings) during a period starting on Friday 7 April 2017 and ending on Friday 14 April 2017. However, works may start and continue between the same times on subsequent nights until completed.

Diversions via alternative junctions of the M62 and local roads will be well signed.

The restrictions will not apply to emergency services or special-forces vehicles, and the prohibitions will not apply to emergency services, works, winter maintenance, or traffic officer vehicles. The prohibitions and restrictions will only apply during such times and to such extent as shall from time to time be indicated by traffic signs.
