IT can down to a nail-biting final round but defending champions Innovative Technology snatched victory from rivals Action Together to once again lift the Oldham Business Awards Corporate Quiz trophy.

Both teams were tying as joint winners right up to the final round of the Dr Kershaw's Hospice fund-raiser at The White Hart, in Lydgate.

But finishing three points clear, the Derker Street-based Innovative team comprising of Damian Roach, Dayna Patterson, Melanie Jones, Gareth Owen, secured a win for the second year running.

The quiz, now in its fifth year, was organised by the Oldham Business Awards and sponsored by Santander and AmpFab Ltd, in Chadderton.

It raised an amazing £1,500 for Dr Kershaw's through entry fees and a raffle.

Twenty-five teams, including Arundel Bakery, Asian Business Leaders, Oldham Chiropractic and Physiotherapy Clinic, Seftons Accountants, Capita, Oldham Training Centre, Web Applications, Breakey and Nuttalls, Pearson Solicitor, Oldham Coliseum and Ryder and Dutton took part in the brain-twisting event which featured six rounds including music, sport and current affairs.

The event was supported by The White Hart owner Charles Brierley and by hosted and staged by Martyn Torr and the team from New Image who also came up with the questions.
