NEIGHBOURS have been enjoying exercise and fun together with the launch of a new project in Oldham.

The Ravenhood "Let's Get Active" project, at Chadderton's Crossley Centre, saw 70 neighbours and families come together to enjoy exercise and fun.

Funded by the Near Neighbours Fund, the aim of the project is to bringing neighbours together to get to know them and get active at the same time.

The event was created by Outta Skool, a social enterprise who work with young people and adults to encourage a healthier lifestyle through sports, dance and fitness activities by engaging hard to reach members of the community.

Moinul Islam, founder and volunteer Projects Manager for Outta Skool said “ I have been working in the community for over 15 years with a focus on tackling inactivity in the lower socio-economic group and reaching hard to reach members of the community.

"In the process I feel that I have neglected my own neighbourhood so, this project is dedicated to them.

"As an organization we hope that the community take full advantage of the project like they have in other communities where we have set up project that are running successfully all over Oldham. On behalf of Outta Skool and the local community we want to thank Near Neighbours Fund for the Opportunity”
