A CAR was completely damaged in a fire near to farm houses in Oldham.

Emergency services were called to the blaze in Bullcote Lane, Heyside, at 4am on Tuesday (March 6).

Fire crews from Oldham Central used breathing apparatus and a hose reel to put out the car fire, which is understood to have been started deliberately. They were in attendance for 40 minutes.

Crew manager Ben Dewhirst said: "You could see the car well on fire from a distance.

"It caused complete damage to the vehicle. You could not determine the make or model of the vehicle.

"We had information from the police that it had been used in a ram raid."
