RESIDENTS are invited to help restore important peatland at Crompton Moor to improve the environment.
A team of keen volunteers from City of Trees will hold a workforce day to improve water quality, alleviate flooding, aid carbon storage and help wildlife.
The group will be planting sphagnum moss plugs into the moorland during the event on Saturday, April 7.
All tools and equipment will be provided, but visitors are asked to wear appropriate clothing and boots.
The team will meet at Brushes Clough Quarry, off Buckstones Road, at 10.30am until 1.30pm.
Teas and coffees will be available for all.
