A GOOD old fashioned street party atmosphere will be generated at Age UK Oldham’s George Street Chapel as guests celebrate the wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.
The afternoon tea party starts at 11.30am, half an hour before the Royal Wedding ceremony which will be beamed live on a 10ft screen in the 200-year-old former church on Saturday, May 19.
The event is also seen as ideal for showing off the building as a wedding and conference venue.
Afternoon tea including sandwiches and tasty treats, is served at 1.30pm, but refreshments including a licensed will be open before that. Afternoon tea, which includes a glass of prosecco costs £11.95 for adults, £4.95 for children.
Age UK Oldham marketing manager Annika Dawson said: “We’re trying to get an atmosphere reminiscent of street parties of yesteryear.
“It’s also a way to demonstrated what a lovely venue this would be for anyone getting married.
Tickets can be obtained by calling Age UK Oldham on 0161-622 9358.
