FIREFIGHTERS have come under attack from a gang of children as young as 10 years old in the Fitton Hill area of Oldham.
The youngsters started a grass fire and rolled logs into the road and pelted the fire crew from Hollins station with unused condoms at Hill Farm Close on Tuesday evening (August 7)
It is believed the half-dozen or so children are the same group who wreaked havoc at Old Maple Mill, nearby recently.
The incident has been reported to the police.
A Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said: “The children concerned were aged between about 10 and 14. It’s just another sorry example of anti-social behaviour.
“Once again we appeal to local parents to keep their children under control. This is a serious, unnecessary and potentially lethal diversion of our resources, when we could be saving lives and property elsewhere.”
