A NUMBER of people in Oldham have been prosecuted at Tameside Magistrates Court for offences relating to the dumping of waste. They are as follows:

MOHAMMED ARFAN, aged 35, of Lees Road, Oldham, failed to secure that any transfer of household waste from 50 Dowry Street, Oldham was only to an authorised person, in that waste including carpets, underlay, wood, wallpaper, tiles, cardboard boxes, black bags, kitchen items and a suitcase from the address was found at Harrop Edge Lane, Dobcross. He was fined £188, ordered to pay £30 into victim services and £330 costs.

GHEORGE Balaban, aged 22, of Meldrum Street, Oldham, threw down, dropped or otherwise deposited litter, namely black bags of household waste and left it in the alleyway at the rear of Meldrum Street, Oldham. He was fined £220 and ordered to pay £30 into victim services in addition to costs of £606.

LEVI Dawson, aged 22, of Zealand Street, Oldham, on or about February 9, threw down, dropped or otherwise deposited litter, namely a black bag of household waste and left it in the alleyway at the side of Zealand Street. He was fined £340, ordered to pay costs of £812 with costs of £34.

BARRY Heron, aged 42, of Broadway Street, Oldham, on or about April 30, threw down, dropped or otherwise deposited litter, namely black bags of household waste and left it in the alleyway at the rear of Broadway Street, Oldham. He was fined £220, ordered to pay costs of £456 and £30 into victim services.

SHABNAM Khan, aged 38, of Cambridge Street, Oldham, on or about March 26 threw down, dropped or otherwise deposited litter, namely bags of household waste and left it in an alleyway at Stafford Street, Oldham. He was fined £220, ordered to pay £30 into victim services and costs of £566.

Other cases before the courts:

KESIR Raja Ali, aged 46, of Mona Road, Chadderton, has had a community order made by Kirklees Magistrates Court, in March, revoked and has been given a new orders for a string of original offences. These were that he assaulted a woman by beating at the car park of Total Fitness in Huddersfield. He also damaged the window of her Mercedes C200 car. Ali also had offensive weapons – a metal extendable wheel brace and a kitchen knife – in his possession. He must carry out 160 hours of unpaid work in the next we months.

RICHARD Gardner, aged 47, of Honeywell Lane, Oldham, failed without reasonable excuse to comply with the notification requirements in that he failed to register a newly issued passport within three days, as so required by the Sexual Offences Act 2003 and travelled to Belgium without notifying police as soon as was practicable. Gardner also failed to notify police that he was staying at an address where a child was present for more than 12 hours. He was jailed for 16 weeks and ordered to pay £115 into victim services.

MILAN Kandrac, aged 23, of Smyrna Street, Oldham, failed to comply with a community order by failing to attend two meetings with the probation service. He was jailed for six weeks.

DYLAN Heselwood, aged 27, of Gawsworth Close, Shaw, failed to comply with a community order by failing to attend two meetings with the probation service. A warrant was issued for his arrest.

JOSHUA Connor Armstrong, aged 25, of Landsberg Road, Failsworth, admitted driving without due care and attention in Minor Street, Failsworth on June 16. He was fined £60 and ordered to pay £85 as well as £30 into victim services.

SHAHID Mahmood, aged 36, of Abbey Hills Road, Oldham, failed to comply with supervision requirements imposed following his release from jail. He was fined £50.

CRAIG Frank Connell, aged 54, of Consort Avenue, Royton, in a public place, namely Castleton Road, Royton, Oldham , carried an offensive weapon, namely a baseball bat. He must carry out 200 hours of unpaid work and pay £85 costs and £85 into victim services.

SEAN Kenneth Watton, aged 47, of Coppice Street, Oldham, on July 17, dishonestly received stolen goods, namely debit card, of a value unknown knowing or believing the same to be stolen. On the same day he committed fraud by making a false representation to buy goods with a stolen debit card. A warrant was issued for his arrest.

ROBERT Nowak, aged 32, of Stott House, Eldon Street Estate, Oldham, failed to comply with supervision requirements imposed following release from prison by failing to attend an appointment. His current whereabouts are unknown. He was jailed for 14 days in his absence.
