POLICE are appealing for help tracing a missing man from Oldham.

Damian Joseph Hegarty was last seen withdrawing money from a cash machine outside the post office in Ashton Road, Oldham on Saturday (September 8), at 4.45pm.

Earlier the same day, at 10.15am, he withdrew money from a cash machine at McColls on Hollins Road, Oldham.

Later the same day, at 10.36am, he withdrew money from a cash machine at Hathershaw Mini Market, Oldham.

Damien is of medium build, 6ft 2ins tall, with short red hair, stubble and blue eyes.

He was last seen wearing black jeans, a blue fleece hooded top, black trainers and a red rucksack.

It is thought that Damian may try to go camping in the Daisy Nook, Park Bridge or Hartshead Pike areas of Oldham.

Det Con Zahir Hussain of GMP’s Oldham Division said: “Damian’s family are understandably very upset and worried by his disappearance.

“Damian’s now been missing two days. We are following several lines of enquiry but would urge anyone with information on his whereabouts to contact police immediately.”
