THE Royal Oldham Hospital is asking the public to nominate their NHS heroes as part of its annual staff awards event.

Anyone who has had amazing treatment at The Royal Oldham Hospital, or if they or their family want to thank a particular doctor, nurse, support worker, or ward that did their best to treat and look after you, then this is their chance.

The Oldham Care Organisation, which is run as part of the Northern Care Alliance NHS Group (Salford Royal and Pennine Acute Trusts), is asking the public to nominate hospital staff and teams for the “Patients’ Choice Award” category.

The Patients’ Choice Award gives the general public the opportunity to say “thank you” and publicly recognise the outstanding care and treatment given to either them, a relative or close friend.

The Care Organisation executive team will select four finalists and it will then be over to members of the public to choose the overall winner via an online vote.

Sir David Dalton, chief executive of the Northern Care Alliance NHS Group, said: “This award is chosen by the public, which makes it extra special. Nothing is more rewarding than a doctor, nurse, porter, healthcare assistant, physio or receptionist being told they are doing a great job by the people they look after.”

Nominations can be submitted an online nomination form via www.pat.nhs.uk or call Josie Neil on 0161 627 8703.
