UP to nine flats at a sheltered accommodation complex in Hollins were evacuated in the early hours of this morning when a bin sparked a fire alert.
Oldham firefighters were called to the homes in Grange Avenue, Hollins at 1.10am to deal with the fire.
The blaze, believed to have been started accidentally, was quickly extinguished, but firefighters were on the scene for an hour and a half. No-one was injured.
