A MAN has been charged following two armed robberies in Oldham and an attempted robbery in Stockport where a man was imprisoned in his own home.
John Rooney, aged 50,of no fixed abode has been charged with one attempted robbery, two business robberies, driving while disqualified, driving with no insurance, possession of an imitation firearm, and possession of heroin and cannabis.
He was due to appear at Stockport Magistrates’ Court today.
Police were called to an attempted robbery on Newbridge Lane in Stockport where a 61-year-old man had been tied up and assaulted in his own home on Thursday, October 11.
At 5.20pm on Saturday, October 13 police were called to an armed robbery at a Post Office on Thornham Road in Oldham and then an armed robbery at a hair salon on Oldham Road in Middleton at 6pm.
A second man, aged 38, has been released under investigation.
