LOCALS could find out just what the doctor ordered when they attend a special session to discuss better health and well-being next month.

The Saddleworth Patients’ Group is hosting the meeting on Tuesday, November 6 at Delph Surgery at Gartside Street with an open invitation to patients and members of the public.

The event begins at 1pm with light refreshments the meeting starts at 1.30pm when jet health officials will outline how the NHS in Oldham and nationally is changing to enable closer working relationships by all health care workers and other agencies.

Among the many benefits discussed will be be a clearer idea how patients we can all help understand to look after their own health better.

And to implement the idea, six clusters are being created in Oldham with Saddleworth in the east group with six other practices including Lees Road and Leesbrook.

Debbie Clough who is in charge of the implementation of the clusters, will attend with of the Patients’ Group, the community worker from the Less and Saddleworth District Partnership team.

The representatives will include from Age UK, the practice matron Jane Storer with others to be confirmed.

This meeting is seen as an illustration of the extensive number of agencies who are all aiming to improve the health and well-being at Saddleworth Medical Practice.

Other agencies who have not been invited can come along and give brief details of the part you can play in the quest for improving health and well-being.
