MAHDLO is the state-of-the art youth zone at the heart of Oldham for eight to 19-year olds. It operates as a registered charity and is open seven days a week, 52 weeks of the year.

It offers an exciting range of activities and opportunities for all young people from across the town, which is available for just 50p per member.

Its mantra is to deliver high quality, innovative activities and experiences for young people in the town and to raise aspirations and support young people to be the best they can be.

THE Facebook page for this organisation is celebrating the fact that its intake programme is now full. It says it can only take two full recruitment flights at any one time. It’s open to anyone in Year 8 or above. Anyone who would like to join should contact the group by Facebook to find out when recruitment reopens in early 2019.

Saddleworth Air Cadets

Based at Saddleworth High School

THIS organisation was in danger of disbanding earlier this year, but is now currently parading with Oldham Squadron in Wellyhole Street on Mondays and Wednesdays from 7pm to 9.30pm.

Despite financial constraints and a volunteer shortage, the group was given a two-year lifeline following a meeting in Uppermill in June, and has since doubled in size.

THERE is little information online about the activities here, but it is open Monday to Friday from 8.30am to 5pm. It is closed at the weekends. It can be reached at phone number 0161 633 0325.

YOUTH in Mind offers a variety of different groups and activities for young people to get involved in to support staying mentally well. These in include art classes, good mood food workshops, and online safety sessions.

The organisation values feedback from young people about its services and their experiences within our service. It also hold sparticipation sessions or focus groups with young people to provide feedback about services or to contribute to the development of new services.
