HUNDREDS gathered in Oldham on an emotional day to mark 100 years since the end of the First World War.
Several days of events reached a conclusion as groups gathered at New Radcliffe Street at 10.20am, travelling together to the Oldham War Memorial at 10.30am.
The full service began at 10.50am with people gathering to hear the Last Post and prepare for two minutes silence at 11.00am.
The service was recreated across the borough, with other events in Crompton, Failsworth, Lees, Royton, Bardsley and Dobcross, and the scene was the same across the country as British people paid tribute to the bravery of those who fought in conflicts throughout the world.
