NOVEMBER 15: Saddleworth Museum, High Street, Uppermill, 7.30pm, Saddleworth Civic Trust has its annual meeting followed by an ordinary meeting with an Independent Cinema office vintage film on “Rural Life in Old Britain”. All welcome but a charge on the evening for non- members of £3. Refreshments available.

NOVEMBER 17: Christmas Fair, Bardsley Methodist Church, Keb Lane, 2-4pm. Fancy goods, cakes, toys, tombola and refreshments. Admission 50p, free for children. Proceeds in aid of church funds.

NOVEMBER 17: Christmas Fair at Holy Trinity Church, in Godson Street, 10am to 2pm. Santa’s Grotto, Christmas draw, tombola, café and various stalls. Proceeds to church funds.

NOVEMBER 17: Coffee Morning, Kiln Green Mission, Diggle, 10.30am. Proceeds in aid Diggle Diamonds.

NOVEMBER 17: Salem Moravian Church, Lees Road, Oldham. Christmas Fair, 11am to 2pm. Entry £1, includes raffle for hamper, fancy goods, cakes,, bric-a-brac, clothes tombola and jewellery.

NOVEMBER 18: Oldham Symphony Orchestra Winter Concert at St Paul's Church, Church Street, Royton, 7.30pm, featuring the popular Hebrides Overture (Mendelssohn), the well known Clarinet Concerto (Mozart) and the beautiful Serenade 1 (Brahms). Admission £10, £6 concessions, £3 for under 16s, payable on the door.

NOVEMBER 18: Prosecco Afternoon Tea fundraiser on behalf of Steve Hill’s chosen charities, 2.30-4.30pm, at High Crompton Con Club, Wood Street, Shaw. Tickets £15 for adults, £8 under 11s, available from the Con Club, St Joseph’s RC Primary School in Shaw, or contact Di on 07753 570690.

NOVEMBER 20: Roman Road, Independent Methodist Church, Failsworth, Christmas Coffee Morning, 10am to noon. Admission £1, including drink and mince pie or cake. Stalls include home bake, Christmas crafts, seven gifts, hand-made cards, Body Shop. All proceeds to church funds.

NOVEMBER 21: Saddleworth Museum, High Street, Uppermill, 7.15pm, Saddleworth Historical Society runs an illustrated presentation by Christine Widdall entitled "A Victorian Society: Oldham Photographic Society - the first 150 Years." All welcome. Society members free but a charge on the evening to non-members of £3. Refreshments available.

NOVEMBER 21: Oldham Flower Club, Christmas demonstration - Christmas Bling - by Louise Jones and Debbie Davies in the Community Room at Daisy Nook Garden Centre, Stannybrook Road, Failsworth. NOVEMBER 24: Oldham Age UK Christmas Fayre, 11am to 4pm, at George Street Chapel, 58 George Street. Food and drinks, gift, craft and toy stalls, chocolate tombola, adopt a bear; £2 per children's craft including make a peg doll Christmas Fairy, decorate a gingerbread, festive stained glass window, peppermint cream making; meet Santa and get a present £2.

NOVEMBER 24: Christmas Fair at Moravian Church, Spring Garden Street, Royton, from 11am-1.30pm. Stalls include home bake, tombola, fancy goods, books and bottles. £1 admission includes entry to draw for luxury hamper. Homemade chicken soup and sandwiches available.

NOVEMBER 24: St Mark's Church, Milne Street, Chadderton, Christmas Fair, 11.30am to 2pm. Various stalls, including Caribbean jewellery, raffles, and food. Entry costs 50p. DECEMBER 1: Hope Congregational Church, Skipton Street, Abbeyhills, Hope Singers' Christmas Concert, 7.30pm. Tickets £5, available on the door. Refreshments are available.

DECEMBER 2: Oldham Age UK Christmas Carol Concert, 3pm, at George Street Chapel, 58 George Street. Freshly cooked three course meal served in festively decorated chapel. Licensed bar will be open. DECEMBER 11: Saddleworth Floral Art present a floral demonstration by Kate Russell of Spital, Wirral at Friezland Church Hall, Greenfield. Her title is Sparkle and Sprouts. All welcome, £6.
