IT was beginning to feel a lot like Christmas in Oldham as families gathered at Tommyfield Market to watch the festive light switch on.
A crowd of hundreds was treated to a special performance by LED robotic dancers from Cirque Bijou and an other-worldly showcase by Oldham Theatre Workshop which brought their 50th anniversary celebrations to a close.
To top off the evening celebration, the sky was lit up by a huge firework display.
Throughout the day, TV favourites Tiny and Small from The Clangers were on hand to meet and greet visitors in Parliament Square.
