IT’S beginning to look a lot like Christmas at Dr Kershaw’s Hospice.

Festive celebrations kick-off on Sunday (November 25) with their Christmas Extravaganza at Turf Lane, Royton, where Santa will be bearing gifts and you can make your own bear in the Dr Kershaw’s Bear Factory.

The event - from 12-4pm - features a grotto for children, stalls selling gifts, crafts, food and more and a bumper raffle for which prizes include a 32” Panasonic Led TV and Christmas hampers.

Admission is £1 for adults and free for children.

Kershaw’s Crooners will join a spectacular musical line-up at the Christmas Concert at Oldham Parish Church on Thursday, November 29, from 6.30pm.

Lydgate Brass Band, soloist John Crebbin, Thornham St James’ School Choir, Hope Singer and others will perform during an evening of Christmas carols, songs and music.

Tickets are £7 for adults, concessions £3 and £18 for families of four and available from the hospice, Dr Kershaw’s shops and online at www.drkh.org.uk.

The much-anticipated Light Up a Life takes place at the hospice on December 2.

This special outdoor service takes place amidst the tinsel and twinkling Christmas trees and is a time remember loved ones.

Light up a Life brings patients and families together to unite and support each other at this poignant time of year.

The service starts at 7pm.

After the festivities have died down, Dr Kershaw’s is launching a Christmas Tree Recycling campaign with every tree handed over equalling a donation to the hospice.

Trees will be collection on January 5 and 6 from OL1, OL2, OL3, OL4, OL8 and OL9 postcode areas.
