FESTIVAL celebrations are to be kick-started in Royton on Saturday, December 8 when the Christmas lights will be switched on.
There will be a range of entertainment from 4pm to 6pm, with the switch-on scheduled for 5.30pm.
There will be market stalls, Santa’s grotto, dancing with RF Dance School, singing with St Paul’s Choir and the Royton Churches Together Choir, plus performances from Royton Hot Brass.
The event is funded by Royton councillors.
At the Bethesda's Toy Swap Shop Stall, parents can also take a toy their child no longer plays with and swap it for one another parent has brought along.
For those who would value some help from the Christmas Toy Appeal there will also be the opportunity for them to register their names for that too and access help with toys for Christmas.
