FRESH from the triumph of their high-profile fundraising Santa Dash, Saddleworth Round Table officials presented Cancer Warriors with a cheque for £1,350.

Cancer Warriors are a local-based support group operating across Oldham and Tameside who help those having to deal with all forms of cancer.

Bearded Derrick Evans and his team meet the third Tuesday of each month at the Reclamation Rooms in Uppermill, providing help and guidance to suffers and their families.

Richard Jones, chairman of Round Table, said: "We're delighted to support such an excellent charity and the work they do across our community.

“When Derrick attended one of our meetings and told us of the work he and his team did it brought a lump to my and many members throats.

“You couldn't help but have admiration for the work Cancer Warriors do supporting those throughout this very difficult time.”

He added: “If you, your family or friends are dealing with all the challenges cancer presents you are invited to attend their meetings.

“Don't suffer in silence. The issues you're facing will have been experienced by many before you and Cancer Warriors will help and support you navigate through these.”

Last weekend’s Saddleworth Santa Dash organised by Round Table, raised £9,430.
