THE following cases have been dealt with at Tameside Magistrates’ Court.

A WOMAN aged 30 has been jailed for 18 weeks after failing to attend an induction appointment with the probation service. Appearing at Tameside Magistrates’ Court, Gemma Marie Daly, of Whitstable Close, Chadderton, was dealt with original offences of theft of goods from Sainsbury’s, Waitrose, Superdrug and Boots, worth a total of £178.86, obstructing a police constable in the execution of his duty and failing to surrender to custody.

JALAL Uddin, aged 30, of Ilkley Close, Chadderton, admitted burglary of Balti Masala in High Street Royton, in which he stole a fan, food mixer, vacuum, bags and drinks worth a total of £575 on December 4. He was jailed for 18 weeks at Tameside Magistrates Court when he appeared last Wednesday as a result of his “flagrant disregard for people and their property” and because the offence was aggravated by Uddin’s previous offending. Uddin must also pay £300 in compensation.The court said Uddin’s guilty plea was taken into account when imposing the sentence. He was given until March 31, 2019 to pay the compensation.

RICHARD Shirt, aged 52, of Whitegate Inn, Broadway, Chadderton, appeared at Tameside Magistrates’ Court failed to stop and give his name and address after an accident which caused damage to another vehicle in New Fields Road, Chadderton, on July 18, and failed to report an accident. He also drove with no insurance and without due care and attention. He was fined £241 and ordered to pay £85 costs and £30 into victim services. Shirt was also banned from driving until he passed his test.

PAUL Anthony Cutler, aged 53, of Edward Street, Werneth, has admitted threatening behaviour. He must undergo treatment for alcohol dependency for six months. He was fined £150 and ordered to pay compensation of £100 and £85 into victim services.

LISA Jane McCamphill, aged 34, of Henshaw Street, Oldham, stole razor blades and perfrum worth £119 from Boots in Oldham on October 25. She was given a two-year conditional discharge and ordered to pay £110 compensation.

REECE John Gilbert, aged 25, of no fixed address, was jailed for seven days for possession of a gas canister in a public place in Oldham when prohibited by a criminal behaviour order made by Tameside magistrates on February 24. Gilbert was banned from entering Oldham town centre, unless he is attending a prearranged appointment with his solicitor, the Department of work and Pension Office in Union Street, the probation office in Rochdale Road, First Choice Homes or One Recovery, Oldham, or while a fare paying passenger on public transport. He must also pay £115 into victim services.

DANIELE Angela Fox, aged 28, of Manchester Street, Oldham, stole a bank card and cash worth a total of £1,000 belonging to a man on January 3, 2018 and was found in possession of class A drug diamorphine in Oldham on July 15. She also failed to surrender to bail on September 17. She was given a 26-week prison sentence, suspended for 12 months and ordered to pay £1,000 compensation.

CHRISTOPHER James Kennedy, aged 22, of no fixed address, at Oldham on October 11, made contact with girl under the age of 16 when prevented from doing so by a sexual harm prevention order made by Manchester Crown Court on August 17, 2015. He also admitted commissioning a further offence during the period of a suspended sentence order made by Minshull Street Manchester Crown Court on September 25 for failing to notify the sex offenders register. He was committed to Minshull Street for sentence in custody on the grounds that he is likely to reoffend.
